In The National Portrait Gallery is tot 7 juni aanstaande de tentoonstelling Cecil Beaton's Bright Young Things (niet) te zien. In de jaren twintig en dertig van de vorige eeuw fotografeerde Cecil Beaton (1904-1980) zijn vrienden tijdens hun kostuumfeestjes. Op de tentoonstelling is werk uit die tijd te zien van Beaton en van de vrienden, die ook vaak kunstenaar waren.
Vanaf de jaren vijftig heeft Cecil Beaton alle interessante en beroemde mensen gefotografeerd. De foto's zijn prachtig, maar de plakboeken vind ik het meest interessant.
